FAQs
What is DealCentre MCP?
DealCentre MCP is a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server built into Intralinks DealCentre. It allows deal teams to connect their preferred third-party AI tools — such as Claude or other MCP-compatible applications — directly to their deal rooms, without downloading or re-uploading any documents.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that enables AI applications to securely connect to external data sources. DealCentre’s implementation of this standard means your AI tools can read, search, and analyze live deal room content while all data remains inside Intralinks’ secure environment.
How does DealCentre MCP relate to DealCentre AI?
DealCentre MCP is not a separate product. It is a connectivity layer built on top of DealCentre that exposes deal room data to MCP-compatible AI tools through a secure, permissioned server.
DealCentre remains the secure foundation — document storage, permissioning, audit, and compliance. The MCP server is the interface that allows AI tools to work with that data without bypassing any of its controls.
Does DealCentre MCP move deal data outside of Intralinks?
No. Deal data stays inside Intralinks’ controlled environment at all times.
Instead of requiring users to download documents and re-upload them into external AI tools — a practice that breaks auditability and creates uncontrolled copies of confidential data — DealCentre MCP provides AI applications with secure, in-place access to deal content.
The AI comes to the data. The data never goes to the AI.
Is deal data used to train AI models?
No. DealCentre MCP does not permit deal data to be used to train external or third-party models.
All AI interactions are governed, logged, and constrained to the specific deal context with least-privilege access.
How does DealCentre MCP control access and permissions?
DealCentre MCP is permission-aware by design. Every request from a connected AI tool is validated against the user’s existing DealCentre permissions before any data is returned. This includes:
- Buyer group isolation
- Role‑based groups
- Confidential Q&A boundaries
A connected AI tool can only see documents that its user is already authorized to access within the deal room. No special grants or separate permission management are required.
How is this different from using ChatGPT or other AI tools directly?
When using AI tools without DealCentre MCP, deal teams typically download confidential documents and upload them into an external AI application. This breaks the chain of custody, creates uncontrolled document copies, and produces no audit record of how deal data was used.
DealCentre MCP eliminates this pattern entirely. AI tools connect directly to the deal room and work with documents in place, delivering:
- No document downloads or uncontrolled copies
- Full audit trail of every AI interaction
- AI outputs scoped strictly to what the user is permitted to see
What types of AI workflows does DealCentre MCP support?
Any MCP-compatible AI tool connected to DealCentre can perform tasks such as:
- Searching and summarizing documents across the deal room
- Cross-document risk and issue analysis
- Q&A theme identification and convergence
- Buyer intent and engagement analysis
- Diligence issue clustering and prioritization
All workflows operate on live deal room data and are fully logged and governed.
Which AI tools are compatible with DealCentre MCP?
DealCentre MCP is compatible with any application that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) open standard. This includes tools like Claude (Anthropic) and a growing range of MCP-enabled AI applications.
Users connect their chosen AI tool to DealCentre by configuring it with their personal DealCentre MCP server address and API key — no custom integration work required.
How does DealCentre MCP support compliance and audit requirements?
Every interaction between a connected AI tool and the deal room is:
- Logged with granular detail: user, AI application, timestamp, and action taken
- Scoped to the deal room, so AI access cannot exceed the user’s authorized permissions
- Governed by the same DealCentre controls that apply to all human user activity
This provides a unified audit trail — human and AI activity recorded together under the same user identity — supporting regulatory, legal, and client obligations.
Who is DealCentre MCP designed for?
DealCentre MCP is designed for:
- Investment banking analysts, associates, and deal leads who want to use AI tools on live deal data
- Corporate development and private equity teams conducting diligence
- Legal and deal operations professionals who need AI-assisted document review within a governed environment
- Information security and compliance leaders who need a defensible, auditable record of AI usage on deals
What problem does DealCentre MCP ultimately solve?
Deal teams today are using AI — the question is whether they’re doing it safely. Without DealCentre MCP, the default behavior is to download confidential documents and feed them into external tools, creating security gaps and compliance exposure on every deal.
DealCentre MCP gives deal teams a better path: use the AI tools you already work with, connected securely to your live deal room, with full governance and auditability built in.
The result: faster diligence, better AI-assisted insights, and no compromise on the confidentiality and control that M&A transactions demand.
